Students provide various low-cost services to the general public. Includes dental exams, fillings, cleanings, and simple tooth extractions; haircuts, color, perms, weaves, manicures, pedicures, and waxes; chair and foot massages; and free blood pressure screenings, glucose checks, and cholesterol and blood analysis testing. Also provides free animal care services including de-tick and flea, grooming and trimming, ear cleaning, dog walking, and puppy socialization.

Programs, often available through senior centers, neighborhood centers, homeless shelters or  drop in centers, or other similar organizations, that offer the on-site services of beauticians, barbers and/or manicurists for people who need to have their hair or nails done. Services may include hair coloring treatment, permanent waves, haircuts, shaves, wash and sets, manicures and cosmetic pedicures which improve the appearance of the feet and toenails. Also included are programs that provide haircuts for homeless people, children from low-income families returning to school and other targeted individuals.

Gift shops, retail stores or other enterprises whose revenues benefit one or more nonprofit organizations.

Nonprofit Retail Stores

Programs that provide the services of individuals who take dogs for regular walks at the request of their owners. Dogs may be walked singly or in groups or taken to off-leash dog parks, beaches or other fun destinations.

Dog Walking Services

Programs that administer tests which determine whether an individual has diabetes, a disorder in which the pancreas produces too little insulin with the result that the body in unable to adequately metabolize sugar.

Diabetes Screening

Programs that shampoo, clip, brush and otherwise groom dogs, cats and other pets. Services usually include flea shampoos and medicated baths when necessary, skin and coat conditioning, brush out and detangling/dematting, carding (to prevent shedding), clips appropriate for the breed, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, anal gland emptying and hair removal from pads and ears. Included are programs that offer grooming services in a salon or spa environment and mobile services that bring a fully equipped mobile van (including a built-in water supply) to the pet owner's home.

Pet Grooming Services

Programs that offer preventive dental care including professional teeth cleaning and information about the proper daily self-care of the teeth to remove plaque, food and other residue that is associated with periodontal disease and tooth decay.

Dental Hygiene

Programs that provide primary oral health care for patients of all ages. General dentists are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, management and overall coordination of specialized services related to the patient's oral health needs. Services generally include an oral health history, preventive dental cleanings, dental radiographs, oral cancer screening, an examination of the teeth to detect tooth decay or other problems, a periodontal examination to detect gum disease, dental restorations (e.g., fillings, crowns and implants), cosmetic dentistry, and other procedures such as fluoride treatment.

General Dentistry

Programs that utilize any of a wide variety of techniques involving the application of methodical pressure, kneading and friction to manipulate the muscles and surrounding structures of the body to stretch and loosen muscles, increase blood and lymphatic circulation, improve mobility, reduce stiffness and pain, and facilitate general relaxation. Included are manual massage by trained professionals and the utilization of a variety of equipment including hydroneumatic devices and electric vibrators.

Massage Therapy

Programs that measure the pressure existing in the large arteries at the height of a pulse wave and identify individuals whose blood pressure is higher than normal, and who are thereby susceptible to strokes and other conditions that are related to hypertension.

Blood Pressure Screening

Administers technical and vocational education programs in the East Valley. Provides technical and vocational education for students in grades 10-12 and for young adults earning their GED. Classes are held in various locations. Students provide various low-cost services to the general public. Includes facials and skin care, massages, marketing and print material design, and vehicle service and maintenance except transmissions. Also rents classrooms, computer labs, and auditorium for events and meetings. Provides support services for students with disabilities.

The local administrative units that are responsible for operating high schools or for contracting for high school services in specific geographical areas.

High School Districts

Programs that pay for or provide maintenance and repair services for people whose automobiles, trucks, trailers or other motorized vehicles are due for regular maintenance or have mechanical or structural problems. Also included are work experience programs that provide automobile repairs for the general public.

Automotive Repair and Maintenance

Programs that enroll exceptional learners for the majority of the school day in special classes or centers that are located on regular school sites and which group pupils who have similar instructional needs. Special classes and centers serve pupils who have intensive needs that cannot be met in a less restrictive learning environment.

Special Education Classes/Centers

Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups identify options for bringing their products and services to the attention of potential customers and purchase space and/or time in the most appropriate advertising medium available. Advertising options include brochures or flyers, direct mail campaigns, e-mail messages, magazine ads, newsletters, major and neighborhood newspapers, on-line discussion groups or chat groups, posters and bulletin boards, radio announcements, telemarketing, television ads, cable television, web page advertising and the Yellow Pages. Other decisions relate to focusing the message, identifying and reaching target audiences, and determining the frequency and reach of advertising efforts.

Advertising/Media Buying

Secondary or postsecondary education programs available in regular or trade high schools or through separate vocational centers or programs that provide formal preparation for semiskilled, skilled, technical or professional occupations for high-school-aged students and, in some cases, adults who have opted to develop or expand their employment opportunities, often in lieu of preparing for college entry. Vocational education programs help participants prepare for full-time employment upon graduation, part-time employment while in school or for more advanced vocational training at the postsecondary level.
