Programs that are licensed to operate sites that dispose of residential, commercial and/or industrial waste materials by spreading the debris in layers and covering it with ashes, dirt and other filler to a level sufficient to control rodents, insects, odors or other health hazards. Sanitary landfills are licensed according to class: class three landfills are licensed for the disposal of inert solid materials only; class two landfills are licensed for the disposal of nonhazardous organic and liquid and solid waste products; class one landfills are licensed for the disposal of all waste products except for those that are radioactive.

Programs that are responsible for maintenance and repair of streets, highways, bicycle paths, bridges, pedestrian overpasses and other public byways; placement and maintenance of pavement markings; curb and gutter repair; sidewalk repair; leaf and debris removal; street cleaning; street salting; snow removal; roadside landscape maintenance; roadside rest stop amenities; removal of traffic and pedestrian obstructions; and other similar street-related services.

Street Maintenance

Intermediate holding facilities for garbage where waste is reloaded into large trucks for more cost-efficient transportation to landfills, recycling dealers and resource recovery sites.

Refuse Transfer Stations

Divisions of county governments that are responsible for overseeing the delivery of designated services to the public and managing other county government functions.

County Government Departments/Offices

Programs that accept and recycle or otherwise dispose of tires that are no longer serviceable due to wear, damage or defect.
