Keys to Change | Keys to Change

Provides drop-in center and support services for single adults who are homeless. Services include respite from the weather, restrooms, water, and Post Office services. Also includes assistance to apply for birth certificates, state ID, and DES benefits; and computer classes; employment preparation and job search assistance; pastoral counseling; mental health and substance abuse treatment; peer support services; and 12-step meetings. Offers referrals to community partners including shelter, medical, and dental care. Provides housing assessments for adults who are homeless. Based on the assessment, people who are the most in need are placed on the community-wide priority list. Local agencies use the list to get clients. Includes screening for additional services. Site for coordinated entry into housing. Offers Aid to Stranded Travelers for Nonresidents experiencing homelessness who find themselves stranded and in crisis situations in the Phoenix area. Issues replacement state-issued IDs.

Provides financial assistance for veteran and Gold Star families with children living in their home that have lost a loved one or are suffering with injuries from combat including Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and moral injuries. Assistance includes mortgage and lease payments, car payments, utility bill payments, insurance payments, or other critical short-term needs once a year.

Accepts airline frequent flyer miles and hotel reward points and distributes them to active duty military and their families. The Hero Miles program provides free, round-trip airline tickets to servicemembers to travel from their home to the hospital. Availability depends on airline partner routes and miles donated. Hotels for Heroes provides free hotel rooms to the families of wounded and ill military servicemembers who are undergoing treatment at authorized medical centers. Availability depends on the donation of rewards points by each hotel's participating members. Fisher House provides lodging to the families of veterans and active duty service members while their veteran or service member is receiving treatment at the VA hospital in Tucson.

Payson Homeless and Homeless Veterans Initiative | Payson Homeless and Homeless Veterans Initiative

Provides services to people experiencing homelessness. Services include shelter, meals, showers, coats, blankets, sleeping bags, return to origin transportation and personal hygiene items. For those staying overnight, a sack lunch is provided for the next day. There are 30 beds to offers overnight stay during inclement weather and in-area emergencies. Also provides warming center in the winter, this is the only extreme weather shelter in Gila County.
